As the popularity of cycling grows, more and more people are taking up cycling for leisure, health and commuting.
This has created a national demand for cycle training with both adults and children wanting to develop the skills and confidence to cycle more safely, more often.
To support the development of cycle training, the Department of Transport created a National Standard to govern the quality of training provided and ensure that Instructors maintain delivery that meets the National Standard.
National Standard Instructors can only be trained by approved Instructor Training Organisations (ITOs) such as Cycle Experience and we are one of only twenty DfT approved ITO’s across the UK.
Once qualified, a National Standard Instructor must register with an Instructor Training Organisation to benefit from Continued Professional Development and receive any updates to the National Standard.
Each year Cycle Experience deliver a National Programme of National Instructor Courses (ITC’s) and have trained over 800 National Standard Instructors who have gone on to deliver cycle training to thousands of children and adults across the UK.
