Julie has been with Cycle Experience for over six years and her background in Learning and Development ensures that all aspects of service delivery meet and exceed relevant quality standards both internally and within the industry. As a Director on The Association of Bikeability Schemes (TABS) board, she is able to demonstrate Cycle Experiences long-term commitment to the wider cycle training industry.
With extensive contract management and staff management experience, Julie has overall responsibility for the team of Regional Managers, Regional Assistants, Instructors and Mechanics. Supporting relations between clients, Regional teams and Head Office, she coordinates Instructor recruitment, mentoring, Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities and quality assurance audit visits.
Julie also coordinates the development and delivery of the Instructor Training Courses (ITC) as part of our requirements as an Instructor Training Organisation (ITO).
She is a National Standards Cycle Instructor Trainer, Balanceability Instructor, Balanceability Instructor Trainer and a qualified First Aider. Julie is also a Pedestrian and Scooter Instructor trainer.
Benjamin has worked for Cycle Experience since 2014, starting as a freelance Cycle Instructor and then Regional Manager before taking on his current role as Operations Manager.
Always positive, professional and highly organised, Benjamin is passionate about promoting a sustainable and healthy lifestyle and working for Cycle Experience provides the opportunity to encourage others to try cycling as a safe form of transport or as a leisure pursuit.
He is a keen, regular cyclist and combines both commuting and cycling for leisure in his free time. Benjamin is able to offer a wealth of cycle training experience, an in-depth knowledge of riding in a variety of different environments and a genuine passion for helping trainees fulfil their potential.
As well as being a fully qualified Cycle Instructor, Cycle Instructor Trainer and British Cycling Level 2 Coach, Benjamin is also a Balanceability Instructor and Instructor Trainer. As a qualified Cycle Mechanic, Benjamin also holds an Advanced Wheel Builder course and has been able to support service delivery in our Telford Cycle Centre for a number of years.
Benjamin a holds an Enhanced DBS certificate, is a qualified First Aider and has had Safeguarding training.
Steve is a fully accredited 'Bikeability' Instructor and Instructor Trainer, having joined Cycle Experience in 2010. He is our Regional Manager for the North West.
Steve measures success through customer satisfaction and strives to find ways to do things better. He excels in engaging with schools, actively promoting the many benefits of cycling.
Steve's cycling utopia is touring the valleys and hills in the warm climes of Majorca, which he has done on several occasions – “there really is no better feeling!”. If he is not instructing or cycling, you'll find Steve on a squash court, where he has played at county level, representing Merseyside (at Silverfox Veterans level of course).
Louise has worked with Cycle Experience since 2014 and leads our operations in the South of England. She is a National Standards Cycling Instructor Trainer, Balanceability Instructor Trainer, Breeze Ride Leader, sports coach and personal trainer. In addition, Louise has over 20 years of commercial experience, with a decade in sport and active leisure.
Louise works closely with her council contacts to ensure that the annual Bikeability funding is maximised and that each programme, designed to increase cycling competence and confidence, is promoted effectively to parents, school children and young adults. She is also responsible for Quality Assurance and the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of Instructors in the South of England.
Louise is based at the Cycle Experience Cycle Centre in West London and holds an Enhanced DBS certificate, is a qualified First Aider and has had Safeguarding training.
In her spare time, Louise has been a Gamesmaker for the 2012 Olympics, is currently a school governor and regularly volunteers for charities Crisis and Hearing Dogs.
Ian joined Cycle Experience in 2016 and brings with him a wealth of retail customer service and operational experience from the cycling sector. Ian supports a wide range of cycling programmes across the South of England from our well-equipped Cycle Centre in West London.
A passionate cyclist who commutes daily by bike, Ian is a fully qualified Cytech Cycle Mechanic and National Standards Cycling Instructor. In support of his role, Ian holds an Enhanced DBS certificate, is a qualified First Aider and has had Safeguarding training.
Ian specialises in bike fleet acquisition, maintenance, management and logistics. He can offer expert advice and guidance to parents and on new and used bike purchase, maintenance and recycling.
In his spare time, Ian is a huge fan of off-road cycling. He has been leading local off-road night rides for over 15 years and loves getting others involved. He can also be spotted on his tandem, taking part in big charity rides.
Kelly joined Cycle Experience in 2015 after a career break and expertly manages a wide range of highly successful cycling and walking programmes both within and outside London. In addition to being a busy working mum with four teenage children, she is also a National Standards Cycling Instructor, Balanceability instructor, Breeze Ride Leader and a Level 2 British Cycling coach.
She uses her excellent communication and administration skills to manage Bikeability courses at schools and implement holiday course programmes in community settings across the borough. Kelly also supports Louise with Instructor Quality Assurance and CPD.
Kelly holds an Enhanced DBS certificate, is a qualified First Aider and has had Safeguarding training.
